Our adult classes are designed to get people of all levels and abilities dancing. Whether you are interested in learning more about dance technique or just want a fun workout, Empower’s come-as-you-are approach invites everyone to experience the joy and power of moving in community.

  • HEALTH & FITNESS:

    90s Cardio Funk

     

    EXPERIENCE: none | CLASS TIME: 60 minutes | ATTIRE: Workout gear and sneakers, bring a mat for floor work and stretching.

     

    This high-energy nonstop dance workout will have any level dancer (or dancer-to-be) gettin' their groove on! Repetitive but funky-fresh hip-hop moves set to the glorious music of the 90's are designed to get you sweating without even realizing you are working your "b-double-o-t-y-oh-my"! Doing the Tootsee Roll, Running Man and other favorites is “gonna make you sweat” with a smile!

  • DANCE 1O1:

    Modern

     

    EXPERIENCE: none | CLASS TIME: 60 minutes | ATTIRE: Any dance/exercise/yoga clothes and jazz shoes, socks, or bare feet

     

     This class is modern techniques and stretch given proper alignment. Choreography is designed to help dancers gain confidence in dance through a moderate pace class that focuses on technique and basic lyrical style choreography. Strong focus on modern techniques and ballet fundamentals such as contraction and release, off-center balances and suspension as well as musicality and self-expression.  Expect a workout with a high dose of creativity!

  • DANCE 101:

    Ballet

     

    EXPERIENCE: none | CLASS TIME: 60 minutes | ATTIRE: Any dance/exercise/yoga clothes and jazz shoes, socks, or any other dance shoes such as ballet slippers

     

    This class presents a fun and easy way for beginning and experienced adult dancers alike to connect with their bodies through the technical foundations of ballet. We will discover how to tone and work out our bodies while moving through the classical form with joy and ease.

  • HEALTH & FITNESS:

    Yoga

     

    EXPERIENCE: none | CLASS TIME: 60 minutes | ATTIRE: Any dance/exercise/yoga clothes and jazz shoes, socks, or bare feet

     

    An all levels Vinyasa flow class, a great way to start the day. Explore your unique mind/body/soul in a safe space through focus on breath and asanas (yoga postures). Increase balance, feel more grounded, build strength, and discipline to meet whatever your personal goals with yoga might be. The class will flow through several sun salutations with variations, cultivating heat and generating energy, working up to a peak pose, moving into stretches and cooling down, ending each class with a shavasana. Modifications will be offered. All bodies welcome.

  • GIRLBOSS!

     

    EXPERIENCE: none | CLASS TIME: 60 minutes | ATTIRE: Heels optional

     

    This high-energy class is designed to sharpen performance technique, movement quality, lines and shapes, core strength, musicality and proper alignment, all while wearing a pump! With influences from street-jazz, hip-hop, voguing, hairography, and stage performance, this class is geared toward finding and perfecting your ultimate sexy! Classes will incorporate a small warm-up done without heels to focus on core strengthening, across the floor to hone your catwalk and sexy movement, and will also end with a combination.
